Four of us visited this inn due to the good reviews and we are amazed at the many good reviews. We found the service to be rude and arrogant-only sales-related. The dishes average-overpriced. To make matters worse, dogs (even very large) are allowed in this restaurant. Not a pleasant atmosphere-we can't recommend this restaurant.

A culinary journey through regional, high-quality cuisine paired with familiar, sophisticated hospitality. We have been there for the second time and are looking forward to further visits. Discovered by chance and loved to stay. Thanks also to the Garcon, an old school man who entertained us well with his warm and refreshing manner. You can still book it as an insider tip, family-run, not overcrowded and a cook who understands, lives and loves his craft!

Much advance praise, but it did not keep what we expected ... The starters came immediately after ordering. When we asked not to serve the main courses at the same pace, we received the somewhat harsh announcement from the waiter, “You already know that the second occupancy of the table is scheduled for 7.30 p.m., for us in an hour! We then refrained from ordering a bottle of wine. When booking the table by phone, I was not informed accordingly. Even a large table in the immediate vicinity did not contribute to an enjoyable dinner due to loud voice acoustics. This was our first and last time in this restaurant and we won't recommend it to anyone.

Ingenious excellent cuisine, the landlord and chef understands his craft excellently and practices it with culinary perfection and definitely has a successful future ahead of him. You couldn't add more, the service led by the landlady is also well above average, so perfect. We look forward to our next visit for Christmas. F&N, Cologne

My new favorite restaurant on the Tegernsee. The fine and creative cuisine, the friendliness of the service, the special attention of the hosts make a visit there a pleasure.

The best we could enjoy on our short vacation at Lake Tegernsee! Cozy Bavarian ambience, subtle, tasteful decor with a feel-good factor, very confident, friendly service, The main course & dessert were a pleasure to look at and in taste. Price-performance ratio absolutely coherent, we will definitely come back!

Wow! Spacious and cozy. Very delicious food - I had chestnut soup and veal boiled fillet. We stayed longer than usual and treated ourselves to Kaiserschmarren for dessert.

Everything is really right here, starting with a friendly, natural and attentive service and excellent cuisine. The appetizer veal escalope with kohlrabi mousse and kohlrabicarpaccio on chanterelle was outstanding. The intermediate dish black pudding on celery puree excellent. The Zwiebelrostbraten was interpreted modern and pleasantly light, although the meat here should have been a bit tender (Entrecote or loin would be preferable in my view of the hip here). As a dessert a blackberry was served with nougat mousse which was very good, only the cashew nuts as a garnish did not quite harmonize. A good cappuccino rounded off an excellent lunch. A really special recommendation and a compliment to the team.

High class food for a good price in relaxing environment

Above average Bavarian food. Was quite delicious actually. Some of the local people that go there are snobs, but the staff /owner cant do much about that.

I think the food here is really fantastic and I think it's good that you can serve yourself. The staff are always in a good mood, funny and if there were problems, they were immediately on the spot. The beds were a bit hard, but you got used to it quickly. I would come back anytime. Thanks for everything !! 😊

Discovered by accident and not regretted. You receive very nice hosts and the atmosphere is very informal. The menu surprises with really great combinations of classic dishes. The food was delicious and the absolutely reasonable prices are in the midfield. In addition, you get a homemade bread selection and a herbal quark, with the fennel seed potato bread was the highlight for me. So if you visit Scharling, you will not go wrong with a stop at Gasthaus zum Hirschberg.

The food was amazing, prices are fair for the value of the food.
